Inom byggsektorn ställs det höga krav på att byggprojekt ska förses med rätt utrustning och material i tid. Detta examensarbete undersöker bygglogistikens avgörande roll på företaget WSP Sverige AB’s infrastruktur och anläggning, med fokus på att förbättra effektiviteten i logistiska processer. Genom att analysera hanteringen av material, resurser, transport och personal syftar arbetet till att föreslå konkreta förbättringar inom områdena arbetsmiljö, miljö och ekonomi. Studien strävar efter att ge praktiska rekommendationer som kan bidra till smidigare och mer kostnadseffektiva byggprojekt. 

För en djupare och bredare förståelse av bygglogistiken inom anläggning och infrastrukturprojekt valdes enkätundersökningar, personliga intervjuer och litteraturstudier som metoder i detta examenarbete. Enkätundersökningar skickades till yrkesarbetare på olika byggprojekt, medan intervjuer genomfördes med tjänstemän inom WSP samt entreprenörer från olika företag. Litteraturstudien inkluderade föreläsningsmaterial, böcker och gamla examensarbeten. Platsbesök gjordes för att samla praktisk information och ge en bredare bild av logistiken.

Resultaten av enkätundersökningen och de personliga intervjuerna visar att projektledarna och entreprenörerna prioriterar samordning, ledning och kommunikation i sina dagliga uppgifter. Skillnader i logistikens effektivitet framkom mellan de olika projekten, där ett projekt fungerade smidigt medan det andra stötte på utmaningar med att material inte levererades i tid. Trots dessa utmaningar betonades vikten av effektiv planering samt samarbete för att säkerställa projektens framgång.

I examenarbetets resultat konstaterades faktorer som påverkat de olika projekten i bygglogistiken. Materialförseningar, stopp som sker i byggproduktionen, APD-plan som ej uppdaterats med jämna mellanrum, material som inte förvarats på en säker och strukturerad plats samt skador på material är olika faktorer som behöver och kan förbättras för att bygglogistiken ska ske effektivt. Efter en noggrann undersökning har ett bygglogistiklager visat sig vara den mest effektiva logistikmetoden som kan tillämpas i både större och mindre projekt för WSP Sverige AB.

In the construction sector, there are high demands for construction projects to be supplied with the right equipment and materials at the right time. This thesis examines the crucial role of construction logistics within WSP Sweden AB’s infrastructure and civil engineering projects, with a focus on improving the efficiency of logistic processes. By analyzing the management of the materials, resources, transportations and workers, the work aims to propose concrete improvements for the work environment, environment and economy. The study strives to provide practical recommendations that can contribute to smoother and more cost-effective construction project.

For a deeper and broader understanding of construction logistics within civil engineering and infrastructure projects, surveys, personal interviews and literature studies were chosen as methods in this thesis. Surveys were directed at skilled workers on various construction projects, while interviews conducted with officials within WSP as well as contractors from different companies. Literature studies included lecture materials, books and previous thesis, complemented with electronic searches via Google and Diva portal. Site visits were also conducted to gather practical information and provide a broader picture of logistics.

The results of the surveys and personal interviews show that the project managers and contractors prioritize coordination, management and communication in their daily tasks. Differences in the efficiency of logistics emerges between the various projects, as material delays. Despite these challenges, the importance of effective planning and collaboration was emphasized to ensure the success of the projects. 

The thesis results identified factors that negatively affected the different projects in construction logistics. Material delays, stoppages in the construction productions, an APD (workplace dispositions plan) that has not been updated regularly, materials not stored in a safe and structured place and damage to the materials are various factors that have negatively impacted construction logistics. After thorough investigation, a construction logistics warehouse has been found to be the most effective logistics method that can be applied in both larger and smaller projects for WSP Sweden AB.
