CO2 reducing methods for laying slab foundations. (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The construction industry is becoming increasingly climate-optimized every day. Additionally, surrounding requirements place a strong focus on the environment, as society strives to become both fossil-free and free from pollutants. Therefore, it is crucial for the construction industry across the country to reduce its emissions. This study aims to map all active methods applied on-site during the production of a concrete slab on the ground. The goal is to inform the public, interested parties, and other sectors within the construction industry, ultimately leading to a more environmentally friendly workplace in the long term.

A literature review has been conducted to gain insight into relevant knowledge in the field. Several field studies have also been carried out, where key personnel at construction sites were interviewed, and surveys were distributed to provide foundational data for the study. Approximate calculations based on scientific input values have been performed to exemplify the impact of active decisions when implemented on-site. These calculations will also demonstrate how climate calculations are conducted using the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning (Boverket) climate database.
