Abstract [en]

The future electrical railway system relies heavily on wireless control of and communication with the trains. This paper investigates the threat of HPM interference radiated towards the GSM-R antennas of the communication systems of the railway. Threshold levels of the communication system are used to calculate the minimum bore-sight distance for realistic HPM sources for causing permanent damage to the system.
