Abstract [en]

The purpose of this report is to identify the design choices ( i.e. location, climate factors, volumetric, material selection, usage of the building, etc.) that affect the energy consumption of buildings, with a focus on mixed-use development.

The aim is to develop a design method that can aid the collaboration between the architecture and engineering practice. This can be achieved by introducing a simplified energy consumption calculation method, developed with the help of parametric design.

The report includes analysis on shape and functions in relation to energy consumption, and the research methodology.
