Abstract [en]

A printed tri-band UHF RFID tag antenna for Monza4 chip which is mountable on metallic surface is proposed with a miniaturized size of 20mm × 35mm × 1.6 mm. A grounded patch is designed to realize the character of mounting the metallic surface. The meander shape lines are used to miniaturise the proposed antenna. To realize three bands, three microstrip parasitic ground lines of different resonance lengths are designed. By optimizing the length of feedline and distance between microstrip parasitic ground lines and feedline, good impedance conjugate matching is achieved between the tag antenna and the Monza4 chip at the frequency band of North America, Europe and Japan.
