Architecture for Improvised Music
KTH, School of Architecture and the Built Environment (ABE), Architecture.

Abstract [en]

The aim of the project has been to create a venue for a free improvised music organisation while investigating the interdisciplinary relationship between architecture and music in search of a design method and an approach to what an architectural improvisation could be.

FRIM is The Association for Free Improvised Music, it was founded in 1976 to create a platform for free improvised music and to promote the ongoing discussion about improvised music as an art form.

The project develops its own design method, trying to combine the hyperbolic paraboloids of Philips Pavilion and the trajectory reflections of Alvar Aalto into my own design method.
