Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The vision for the project is based upon ones own childhood, a vision forward based on memories and experiences that lie behind. Memories of the school being a second home during a large part of one’s life. An environment where one can feel safe and develop as a person.

The school is shaped like a large unbroken unit. Years 1 - 6 are located at the core of the house where an atrium illuminates the large space. The classes are distributed by floor in such a way that the classes increase along with the floors, meaning class 1 & 2 are located at the bottom floor, 3 & 4 on the first floor and 5 & 6 on the second. This in order to spark the idea of always aiming high and motivating the children subconsciously that one day they may even be as great and talented as the older children. Preschool is separated from older age courses, partly because the young children should not feel afraid of the older children while they can have their own school program with their own assigned yard.

The large volume takes up a lot of space on the site, which has been compensated with a roof terrace on the first floor which gives the building a stair like shape. This design is based on the previous idea of aiming high.
