Cluster KN formation by Rydberg collision complex stabilization during scattering of a K beam off zirconia surfaces

Abstract [en]

The process of stabilization of a collision complex exists for a Rydberg complex. Clusters KN * are formed by collisions between K beam atoms and excited K atoms or clusters by a direct condensation process during the scattering of a K beam off a zirconia surface. Electronically excited clusters KN * with N at least up to four exist at the surface. Specular scattering of electronically excited K atoms is also demonstrated.
