Abstract [en]

This chapter aims to assist even the unfamiliar reader through the main concepts, approaches and discussions that characterize sonification research today. Furthermore, we discuss five main emerging themes in sonification - learning through sonification, the sonification of new digital things, personalization, sonification of health and environmental data and sonification of movement - where we foresee major potential for expansion in the field.
