Abstract [en]
The use of liquid metal as coolant for nuclear reactors is a fairly old concept, but interest in the technology is increasing as methods for increasing reactor fuel efficiency are sought. One of the safety premises of this kind of reactor is retention of fission products in the coolant. This presents a safety hazard if coolant is released into the containment in an accident. The goal of this paper is to examine modelling approaches for aerosol behavior in the containment, including agglomeration, transport and deposition. The modelling will be carried out using GOTHIC 8.3 containment thermal-hydraulic analysis code.
