Although the idea of continuous feedback of technical and administrative experiences from the facilities management to the construction process itself is attractive, practical tests have often been a disappointment, especially with large systems intended for many information users. The development of more efficient IT tools for process support makes it worth reconsidering main issues in submitting, analysing, storing and retrieving experiences. In this paper, Swedish attempts at creating such databases are used for illustrating the main points. Issues such as stability of systems, causal analysis, technical obsolescence, the psychology and incentives of reporting and using experiences are highlighted.
