Syftet med denna studie är att kontextualisera gentrifiering begreppet i tre områden iStockholm. Att tillämpa gentrifiering begreppet och förstå vilka parametrar som är avbetydelse i dessa områden. Metoden har bestått av en litteratur och dokumentstudie för attundersöka tidigare forskning kring gentrifieringsoch bostadspolitik. För att förstå bakgrundenoch orsakerna till gentrifieringsprocessen och hur gentrifiering kommer till uttryck idag. Detär en kvalitativ fallstudie av tre utvalda områden i Stockholm. Inom ramen av fallstudienutfördes en analys av dokument, statistik och tidningsartiklar. Vidare genomfördes en intervjumed områdesstrategen för Östra Söderort.Resultatet redovisar den historiska stadsutvecklingen av dessa områden och dess värdefullakulturhistoriska byggnader och arkitektur. Det redovisar statistik som ger en övergripandeförståelse av områdena och i resultatet redogörs det angående förändringar i bostadspriser ochombildningsprocesser.Slutsatserna i denna studie redogörs av identifierade värden som är viktiga i engentrifieringsprocess. Kvaliteter som främjar gentrifiering. De identifierade värden utgår frånindividers boendepreferenser samt värden som identifierats i områdena av litteraturen. Detfinns universella värden som tillgång till en fungerande kollektivtrafik och dess geografiskaläge. Grönska är ett universellt värde och uppfattas som viktigt och attraktivt. Småskalighetenav bebyggelse är av betydelse då det bidrar till autenticitet och identitet. Arkitektur är av storvikt och vilken tidsperiod det är byggt, då den besitter ett kulturellt och socialt värde. Studienvisar att större lägenheter till ett förmånligt pris har främjat gentrifiering. Ägandet av bostäderär av betydelse i en marknadsstyrd bostadsmarknad. I gentrifieringsprocessen omvandlashyresbostäder till bostadsrätter vilket medför att har råd att bo kvar och att en annan klass harmöjlighet att ta över.

The purpose of this study is to contextualize the concept of gentrification in three areas inStockholm. To apply the gentrification concept and understand what parameters are ofimportance in these areas. The method has consisted of a literature and document study toexamine previous research on gentrification and housing policy. An interview was also conductedwith the area strategist for Östra Söderort.The results report the historical urban development of these areas and their valuablecultural-historical buildings and architecture.
