The Community & Health Center in Alberga is a proposal for solution to the exam exercise of the Bachelor's Degree Project in Architecture, which was to create a Folkets hus+ in the countryside of Eskilstuna, that through a public hybrid program meets local needs. The aim of my project, which had focus on health, was on one hand to encourage cooperation between existing parties in the village Alberga, like the non-profit organizations, the school and the retirement home, on the other hand to make it easier for the inhabitants to have an active, healthy and social lifestyle. My Folkets hus+ is therefore a building for club activities, culture and community that also offers a health service reception and rooms for physical activity. The house is built of wood and is designed with regard to its location near the village’s centre, a busy street and a small forest and with allusion to the district’s small house typology. Thanks to the fact that the big building is divided into separated room units that are emphasized by interspaces of glass and their own gable roofs, all activities can be in the same house, at the same time as the district’s small scale maintains. Special attention has been given to the children, by using a playful placement of windows and colour palette and rooms for playing, but under the same (but many) roofs a meeting place is created that strengthens the health of both youths and elderly people, new and old inhabitants, members of the non-profit organizations and other inhabitants.

Gemenskaps- & Hälsocentret i Alberga är ett förslag på lösning på kandidatarbetets uppgift att skapa ett Folkets hus+ på Eskilstunas landsbygd, som genom ett offentligt hybridprogram svarar mot lokala behov. Målsättningen i mitt projekt, som har haft hälsa som fokusområde, har varit dels att uppmuntra samarbete mellan befintliga aktörer i tätorten Alberga, som de ideella föreningarna, skolan och äldreboendet, dels att underlätta för invånarna att ha en aktiv, sund och social livsstil. Mitt Folkets hus+ är därför en byggnad för föreningsliv, kultur och gemenskap som även erbjuder en hälsovårdsmottagning samt plats för fysisk aktivitet. Huset är byggt av trä och har utformats med hänsyn till sin placering intill samhällets centrum, en trafikerad väg och en skogsdunge samt med anspelning på områdets småhustypologi. Tack vare att den stora byggnadskroppen är uppbruten i separerade rumsenheter som framhävs av glasade mellanrum och egna sadeltak, ryms alla verksamheter i samma byggnad samtidigt som områdets småskalighet bevaras. Barnen har fått särskilt utrymme genom en lekfull fönster- och färgsättning samt rum för lek, men under samma (men många) tak skapas en mötesplats som stärker hälsan för såväl yngre som äldre, nyinflyttade som tidigare Albergabor, föreningsmedlemmar som övriga invånare.
