In the project with the people's greenhouse, I started from previous work where we analyse the place’s agriculture, self-sufficiency and social life. It turned out that agriculture and cultivation are the biggest employment and interest in the area. This conclusion became an aspect of the project. I analysed different variants in the design of the building with location close to the forest and water. The building got a long and narrow shape with a greenhouse in the middle of the building. This made the greenhouse and surrounding nature be the centre off focus.In the model, I analysed the constructive parts of the house with a focus on bearing capacity and strength. I used rectangular pillars of glulam beam and straight roof beam to get a strong and stable frame. The construction is made of wood, which from an environmental point of view is a positive bonus in the project. It is an extremely sustainability material that does not disturb an ecological balance in any way. It is produced without the use of fossil fuels and thus stores carbon dioxide, which has a positive impact on the environment and indoor climate. In addition, the house’s integrated common greenhouse contributes to better air quality through plants’ capture of carbon dioxide and enables organic cultivation of various plants all year round. I have also analysed how the house can be maintained with energy in an environmentally friendly way, which led to me placing solar cells on the roof and a small hydropower plant under the building which generates electricity for pumps, lighting and the rest of the maintenance in the building.Hopefully the building inspires a meeting and joint cultivation. The house promotes local culture and puts it in focus. I hope it helps stimulate imagination which in turn encourages play, learning and the development of cultivation interest in the area.

I projektet med folketsväxthus utgick jag från tidigare arbete där undersökte vi platsens jordbruk, självförsörjande och det sociala livet. Det visade sig att jordbruket och odling är det största sysselsättning och intresse i område. Jag tog fasta på detta och självförsörjande och det fick bli en ingång i projektet. Jag undersökte olika varianter i gestaltningen av byggnaden med placering i närhet till skogen och vatten. Byggnaden fick en avlång och smal form med ett växthus i mitten av byggnaden. Detta gjorde att växthuset och omkringliggande natur står i fokus. Jag undersökte konstruktiva delar i modellen med fokus på bärighet och hållfasthet. Jag använde mig av rektangulära pelare av limträbalk och rak takbalk för att få ett starkt och stabil stomme. Konstruktionen är i trä vilket ur miljösynpunkten är ett positiv bonus i projektet. Det är ett extremt hållbart material som inte stör en ekologisk balans på något sätt. Den produceras utan användning av fossila bränsle och därmed lagrar den koldioxid vilket ha en positiv inverkan på miljön och inomhusklimat. Dessutom husets integrerat gemensamt växthus bidrar till en bättre luftkvalitet genom växters fångande av koldioxid samt möjliggör en ekologisk odling av olika växter året runt. Jag har också undersökt på vilket sätt huset kan underhållas med energi på ett miljövänligt sätt vilket ledde till att jag placerade solceller på taket samt ett mindre vattenkraftverk under byggnaden vilka genererar el till pumpar, belysning och resten av underhåll i byggnaden. Förhoppningsvis inspirerar byggnaden till möte och en gemensam odling. Huset främjar lokal kultur och sätter den i fokus. Jag hoppas att det bidrar till att stimulera fantasi som i sin tur uppmuntrar till lek, lärande och utveckling av odling intresse i område.
