Abstract [en]

New 2-(2-di- and tetrahydrothienyl)benzimidazole compounds were prepared by the ring closure reactions of 2-(mercaptomethyl)benzimidazole (1) and α,β-unsaturated compounds activated with electron-withdrawing groups.
