Loopen är ett folketshus som placerats i gränslandet mellan tätort och landsbygd i Järna. Förutom folketshus så inrymmer Loopen en  kollektivverkstad med fokus på kreativitet, återbruk och cirkulär konsumtion.Visionen med Loopen var att  skapa en oöm och tillåtande plats som lämnar utrymme åt brukarna att ta eget initiativ för aktiviteter och leva ut sin kreativitet. Det drivs kollektivt utan statlig inblandning och värnar om den fria konsten och kulturen. Det är en byggnad för och av folket med en informell atmosfär som ska återspeglas i form och materialval. 

Flexibilitet och hybriditet har varit viktiga begrepp under projektet vilket har resulterat i att byggnadens alla rum har mer än ett syfte och användningsområde. Ambitionen var att ytorna ska samnyttjas av folketshus och produktionsdelen i största möjliga mån. Den öppna ateljé blir vid behov ett mötesrum, samlingsrummet kan gå från läs-och arbetshörna till en plast för fest och middagsbjudning. 

The Loop is a community center located in Järna south of Stockholm, Sweden.  Besides the facilities commonly associated with a community center The Loop also includes a wood workshop that is available to the public, but also used for the production on site, recycling old furniture and promoting circular consumption. 

The vision was to create a durable place which allows people to come up with their own ideas, initiate activities and express their creativity.  It´s built by the people for the people and has an informal atmosphere that should be reflected in the shapes and materials of the building. 

Hybridity and flexibility have been two key words during the process which resulted in multi functional rooms. The community center and the production part coexists under the same roof and shares the spaces of The Loop. For example, the public studio turns into a small conference room when needed and the workspace/reading nook transforms  with some reshuffling of the furniture  to a place for dinner parties.
