Spektrer är ett nystartat företag som skapar musikfestival-tillbehör. Deras teknik handlar om att låta produkten reagera på ljudet i realtid och skapa en ljusupplevelse med hjälp av LED-lampor. Deras nuvarande produkt Mark 1, är ett par LED-glasögon som finns ute för försäljning men Spektrer önskar förbättra deras nuvarande produkt, alternativt ta fram en ny LED-accessoar.

På marknaden idag finns det gott om slit-och-släng-produkter och det finns mycket LED-accessoarer till ett väldigt billigt pris på många hemsidor. Under användarstudien upptäcktes däremot ett behov av LED-accessoarer för uthyrning under olika event. De flesta ville inte äga en sådan produkt själva, men tyckte att det skulle vara roligt att kunna använda en sådan produkt under ett event. Många uttryckte även att produkten i form av ett armband hade varit mest intressant.

Tre koncept på armband togs fram, där två av dem var tänkta för event-användning och ett för personlig användning. I enlighet med tidigare research togs de två koncepten för event-användning vidare i ett kombinerat slutkoncept.

Slutkonceptet består av ett armband i silikon, som knäpps med hjälp av magneter som det även går att anpassa storleken på genom att knäppa armbandet i olika lägen. Armbandet erbjuds i två olika storlekar - S och L, för att passa så många olika personer som möjligt. Det har även två LED-slingor i sig parallellt för maximal ljuseffekt, samt skåror framtill för att skapa textur.

Armbandet är som tidigare nämnt, tänkt för event-användning där man har möjlighet att hyra armbandet under ett event och använda det tillsammans med de andra besökarna för att skapa känslan av gemenskap och bli en interaktiv del av upplevelsen. Och i och med detta är syftet med projektet uppnått, med en ett LED-armband som tagits fram enligt Spektrers önskemål men som även uppfyller de flesta kraven och behov från användarna.

Spektrer is a newly started company that creates music festival accessories. Their technology allows the product to react to the sound in real-time and creates a light show with LED lights. They have one product out for sale right now which is their LED goggles Mark 1, but Spektrer wishes to improve their current product or develop a new LED accessory. 

On the market today there are a lot of cheap LED accessories of lower quality. However, during the research phase, it was discovered that there is a need for renting LED accessories during a music event. Most people wouldn’t like to own such a product themselves but thought it would be nice to be able to use it during an event. Many people expressed that the product in the shape of a wristband would be the most interesting one.

Three concepts of wristbands were developed where two of them were made for event use while the other one was made for private use. In agreement with earlier research, the concepts for event-use were combined and further developed to a final concept.

The final concept is a LED wristband made in silicone, that closes with magnets which also allows the user to adjust the size by snapping it to different positions. The wristband is offered in two sizes, size S and size L so that it can fit as many people as possible. It also has two LED strips inside that go in parallel for a maximal light experience and it has notches in the front to create texture and make the surface more interesting.  

The wristband is as earlier mentioned, intended for festival use, where you have the possibility to rent the wristband during the event and use it along with the other visitors to create a feeling of connection and become an interactive part of the experience. And with that, the purpose of this project is reached, with a LED wristband that is developed according to Spektrer’s request but it also fulfils most of the requirements and needs of the users.
