2023 (English)Report (Refereed)
Abstract [en]

AD-EYE is an ongoing collection of projects at Kungliga Tekniska H¨ogskolan (KTH) in Sweden, aiming to develop a platform for researchers to test autonomous driving solutions in real-world conditions. The future goal of AD-EYE is to create a smart infrastructure at KTH Campus with autonomous driving vehicles. This iteration of the project covers the foundation of implementing the AD-EYE software on a real car, thus leading to the shift from a simulation environment to the real world.

This shift is accomplished by providing real-world data through perception sensors interfaced mechanically and electrically to the vehicle and logically to the AD-EYE software. The vehicle would then utilise the Controller Area Network (CAN) to send information from onboard sensors and react autonomously to the commands received from the AD-EYE software.

This report covers the solutions introduced pertaining to the goal of this project. Nearly all major stakeholder requirements have been fulfilled and can be expanded for future projects. Finally, a demonstration of the solutions was presented to the stakeholders proving the feasibility of the project while highlighting the considerations for further implementation.
