Stora Vika är ett litet samhälle i Nynäshamns kommun som en gång var en aktiv plats med mataffär och bibliotek mm. Idag har flera av dessa funktioner lagts ner men det finns fortfarande ett stort medborgarengagemang på platsen. Detta är något som jag i projektet vill ta vara på och främja genom ett nytt centrum i samhället med co-working, café och andra gemenskapsfrämjande aktiviteter. Här ska det finnas möjlighet att vistas ung som gammal, morgon som kväll. Tanken är att detta ska bli en plats där många trivs och vill vara på men som också underlättar vardagslivet för invånarna med exempelvis en liten livsmedelsbutik. Förhoppningsvis kan denna nya byggnad locka fler människor att flytta till ett litet samhället som Stora Vika. 

Huset för folket i Stora Vika är ett nytt tillskott till tätorten men med rötterna i platsens historia och folket.

Stora Vika is a small community in the municipality of Nynäshamn, which once was an active place with a grocery store and a library, among other things. Today, several of these functions have been shut down, but there is still a strong civic engagement in the area. This is something that I want to harness and promote in the project through a new center in the community with co-working spaces, a café, and other community-enhancing activities. This place should be accessible to both young and old, morning and evening. The idea is for it to become a place where many feel comfortable and want to stay at, but also to facilitate everyday life for the residents with, for example, a small grocery store. Hopefully, this new building can attract more people to move to a small community like Stora Vika.

The House for the People in Stora Vika is a new addition to the urban area, but with roots in the history and people of the place.
