Comparison of floor heating and radiators in a detached dwelling regarding energy efficiency and comfort (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study was to determine the most suitable heating distribution system for asmall house by comparing hydronic floor heating and radiator systems. The report comparesthese system types based on energy efficiency and comfort. Literature studies were conductedand the conclusion was that a radiator system is recommended for the dwelling. The radiatorsystem performs well in terms of comfort and energy efficiency. Compared to floor heating, radiator systems are less sensitive to sudden outdoor temperature changes and can moreflexibly adjust heat supply to the house for a good and consistent indoor climate. However, the floor heating system could approach, or even surpass the performance of radiator systemsif careful planning is done in the building process regarding supply temperature, materialselection and transmission losses. It should be noted that personal preferences play a big rolein the choice of heating distribution system, which can be the deciding factor in the decision.
