The future Smart Grid (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

As the population increases and cities expand, many demands are placed on the electricity tocover all the needs. This, together with today's climate changes and conversion from fossilenergy sources, gives even higher demands on how the network should be designed. Thisreport will discuss the development of the Smart Grid. How it can be used, how the consumeris affected and other opportunities and challenges with the concept. The report primarilydeals with differences between today's electricity grid and the Smart Grid and also whatchanges, risks and opportunities the development would bring to consumers. The resultshows that Smart Grid has great potential to solve large parts of the difficulties of today'selectricity grid. Among other things, greater use of renewable energy sources and alsorespond to the consumer's need for electricity in an efficient way through advancedtechnologies.
