Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

This report investigates the possibilities of constructing a single-family home primarily composed of cellular glass. To assess how cellular glass could be used in single-family homes, already existing technical solutions have been evaluated, and new solutions have been created where such solutions do not currently exist. In this report, two fictional houses were created and compared: one with a conventional wooden frame, and one made of cellular glass. When comparing the different components of the houses, the foundation and the walls were found to be the most suitable building elements to create from cellular glass. Furthermore, it was found that a conventional house would have a 16% higher U-value and weigh twice as much as one made of cellular glass.
