Abstract [en]

This paper aims to study the feasibility of a mechanical design process automation focusing on the Stressometer product line in ABB with inclusion of automatic creation of 3D models and application of a SolidWorks API solution. Modular development, bottom-up approach, Agile SCRUM, Kanban were used as methodologies to support this Hyperautomation-related study. This study proved the feasibility of au-tomation with the first step of automating the 3D mechanical design and 2D drawing of the Stressometer product by utilizing the user parameters and translating them directly into technical system parameters on the engineering side. The research was carried out in a modular setup by breaking down tasks in a hierar-chical fashion into smaller tasks and agile task prioritization according to the methodology. The findings can be used to guide the future application of Hyperautomation in the company and in the industry.
