Abstract [en]
This project examines and proposes a new type of facility for physical activity and sports. The purpose is to create an inviting and inspirational place for people to meet and try different activities. The goal is to encourage and stimulate people of all ages to be more physically active, thus promoting better health. The posed question is: how can architecture and the built environment be conducive to an active lifestyle? It will not be based on the standard competition format, but instead combine a range of activities, as well as an indoor space, allowing for use all year round. For this, a site has been chosen, Klostergården, in the southern part of the city of Lund. With a newly built train station and access to pedestrian and bicycle paths as well as roads, it has good accessibility to the city center. Surrounding green areas around Höje Å and the local allotment areas are used as qualities as well. The final proposal contains a sport hall with a running track that links all the activities with the indoor and outdoor spaces.
