Abstract [en]

The site is located in Bromma at the end of Ålstensgatan. The row houses will be an extension of the famous ”Per-Albin Houses''. The street ends abruptly in a grassy meadow which after a while leads down to Mälaren. Nice walking paths run along the water. During the summer, the part close to the water is used extensively, while the upper part is an unused area.Ålstensängen and its adjacency to the lake and nature emphasizes the importance of sustainable and environmentally conscious design. The project should consider maximizing natural light, preserving green spaces, and incorporating eco-friendly materials that enhance the overall quality of life for residents while maintaining the ecological integrity of the site..The choice of rammed earth as the construction material not only aligns with today's sustainability standards but also introduces a distinctive aesthetic that echoes both tradition and innovation.Rammed earth construction is an ancient building technique that involves compacting damp soil into sturdy, durable walls by in layer compress earth in formwork. This eco- friendly practice has gained renewed interest for its sustainability, low cost, and aesthetic appeal, blending modern architecture with time- tested principles for resilient and environmentally conscious building.
