This thesis aims to transform an unexciting location into something more aesthetically pleasing and functionally improved. The focusing area stretches along Katarinavägen and down to Stadsgården. The proposal involves constructing a building along the steep side leading up to Katarinavägen, featuring a park and restaurants on the roof, at the same height as Katarinavägen. 

The building will have a splendid view of Stockholm. By choosing to build a hotel, many visitors will have the pleasure of enjoying our beautiful city. At the same time increasing the number of hotel rooms, which provides a good addition to the increasing tourism. A stunning vantage point from both the hotel rooms and the rooftop will provide a breathtaking panorama of Stockholm. The ugly mountainside is replaced with an attractive facade. 

This project will completely change Katarinavägen from a long pavement to a place for people to go to for pleasure. Lots of green areas for children to play, beautiful views from the park and the restaurants, where you can enjoy the sunset over the roofs in Old Town. 

The project will not eliminate any existing open spaces or parks. Stockholm will instead gain more park space than before. The new building will not block the view from any other house.
