Abstract [en]

The world is more and more characterized by darkness and despondency. It is getting more obvious every day in what direction it is moving and that we, as a matter of fact, find ourselves in a deep fundamental crisis in the form of climate catastrophe, war, a generell dehumanization and devaluation of basic human value. Compassion and the striving for peace are positions now questioned and challenged by fascist and militant movements. Everything under the sun is evaluated from an economical point of view. This has consequently led to that non-commercial values, ideas and locations have been neglected in favour of exploitation and commerce. The city increasingly appears as a segregated island for the economic elite, and as a destination for work and consumption.

With seriousness and the special feeling of solemnity that exist in the church room as a starting point, I have created three spaces in the urban environment that is free from commercial interest and religion.  Available spaces for contemplation, reflection, seriousness and spatial perception. Three spatialities in different scales, in different places and of different sorts. Spatialities for music, conversations, rest and thoughts.

Through this project I wish to obstruct the current development of society characterized by stress, anxiety and at the same time a growing selfishness and loss of empathy. To make place for humanistic values in the city. Public, constant and accessible spaces beyond profitability. To raise hope for consideration, consciousness and comfort in a severe time.
