Servicepartner is an already existing social company in northern Nynäshamn who provide work training to people who, for different reasons, haven’t been able to work. Usually, this includes working shorter shifts in manual labor, such as cutting grass, maintaining machines, packaging or re-packaging wares as well as other service-related work. The company is owned by the municipality and is supposed to serve the entire region. However, it’s pretty far from the nearest train station, and it doesn’t have much communication or infrastructure nearby. The prognosis is also that social companies like these will see an increase in demand, due to new state policy. My project therefore aims to move Servicepartner a bit closer to the main city of Nynäshamn, where there’s also good communications around them, as well as increasing the size of their base of operations. I decided to let Servicepartner switch places with a truck-parking. There’s a platform on the parking lot, which is supposed to flatten the area for the trucks to park on. This platform became central in the formation of my project, and the shape of the building follows the shape of both the platform and the plot of land. The new building is big enough to grant Servicepartner a triple-increase in capacity, while maintaining a lot of their site-specific co-operations.

Servicepartner är ett befintligt socialt företag i norra Nynäshamn som sysslar med arbetsträning för folk som av olika anledningar inte kunnat arbeta tidigare. Vanligtvis brukar detta handla om att arbeta kortare arbetspass och att utföra uppgifter som gräsklippning, underhållning av maskiner, att packa upp och ner varor eller andra servicerelaterade arbetstjänster. Företaget ägs av kommunen och är tänkt att kunna erbjuda sina tjänster till hela Nynäshamn. Däremot ligger deras byggnad ganska långt ifrån närmaste pendeltågsstation och har väldigt lite kommunikation och infrastruktur runt om sig. Dessutom är prognosen att trycket på denna typ av sociala verksamheter kommer att bli större på grund av eventuella framtida lagförslag. Projektet handlar därför om att flytta Servicepartner lite närmare Nynäshamns tätort och till en plats där det finns lite bättre kommunikation. Jag bestämde mig för att byta plats på servicepartner och Nynäshamns lastbilscentral. På parkeringen finns en befintlig plattform, vars syfte är att göra ytan plattare. Denna plattform blev central i utformningen av mitt projekt och byggnadens form följer både kanten på plattformen och tomtgränsen. Det nya huset är tillräckligt stort för att tredubbla servicepartners verksamhet samtidigt som de kan bibehålla många av deras platsspecifika samarbeten.
