Tunable single-frequency radiation in orange spectral region

Abstract [en]

Sum-frequency mixing of two continuous wave non-planar Nd:YAG ring oscillators (NPROs) at 1064 and 1357nm have been used to generate tunable, single-frequency radiation at 596nm. An output power of 16.7mW was obtained by employing periodically poled KTiOPO4 (PPKTP) as the frequency converter. An absorption curve of iodine vapour was recorded to demonstrate the tunability of this system.
