Abstract [en]

A promising technique for generating discrete-tunable beat-note signals is presented and investigated. Two tunable fibre gratings provide external feedback to an Er:Yb laser. Beat-notes from 60 GHz up to similar to2 THz are achieved. Power equalisation is discussed and the partition noise is measured.
