New representative of Bi-9(5+)-containing phases: synthesis and crystal structure of the Nb-IV-containing Bi10Nb3Cl18 compound
2003 (English)In: Russian chemical bulletin, ISSN 1066-5285, E-ISSN 1573-9171, Vol. 52, no 10, 2100-2104 p.Article in journal (Refereed) Published
The Bi10Nb3Cl18 compound was prepared using the high-temperature ampoule method, and its crystal structure was determined by sing-le-crystal X-ray diffraction. This phase contains the Bi-9(5+) cluster polycations and Bi+ cations surrounded by the NbCl62- complex anions. The latter contain the paramagnetic central Nb-IV ions, as evidenced by magnetic measurements.
