Abstract [en]

The growing market for wireless internet service providers show that unlicensed spectrum can successfully be used in hotspots. However it is not clear that unlicensed spectrum is suitable for large scale systems. To understand this technical properties of short range systems are mapped on the influence on the microeconomic firm behaviour. The influence on competition and the possibility to gain benefits from cheating are studied. The results indicate competition can be ensured.
