Abstract [en]

This paper presents a method for sensorless speed control of non-salient permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM). Special attention is put on the startup and synchronization of the motor, which are crucial for good performance of the drive system. The method merges both estimation and control of speed into one combined algorithm. Good performance is verified theoretically and experimentally.
