Abstract [en]

The single tone frequency estimation problem is studied.Starting  with the maximum likelihood estimator and anassumption on high SNR, a generic estimator utilizinga sequence of estimated correlations is derived. Its relation to several existing estimators isgiven, and an expression for its asymptotic errorvariance is derived.Simulation results which lend support to thetheoretical findings are included.
