The Scenario of Intentionally Radiated Electromagnetic Interference to RailwaySystems
2007 (English)Conference paper (Refereed)
The future electrical railway system relies heavily on wireless control of and communication with the trains. This paper investigates the threat of HPM interference radiated towards the GSM-R antennas of the communication systems of the railway. Threshold levels of the communication system are used to calculate the minimum bore-sight distance for realistic HPM sources for causing permanent damage to the system.
