Abstract [en]

To be able to incorporate work, process and task analysis into industrial object-oriented system design in practice one needs to focus on all factors influencing the development work. Such factors includes the development of information technology, users and their competence, organization, the work activity and the physical work environment.

In cooperation with the Swedish National Tax Board we have established a methodological framework for the incorporation of domain knowledge into a user centered development process. We have extended the object oriented use case modeling techniques with aspects relevant for user interface design. We have supported the user interface design process with domain knowledge by introducing a corporate style guide and enhanced the possibilities for designing systems that efficiently support the user's work through the workspace metaphor. Currently the focus of the research cooperation is on the improvement of the possibilities for efficient user participation in the development process.
