Abstract [en]

The development of a laboratory test rig of an NH3/CO2 cascade system is presented in this paper along with a theoretical model that simulates the performance of the system. The system solution under investigation replicates a medium size supermarket in Sweden, it is designed to fulfil the general requirements of the supermarket and operate within its temperature boundaries. Several possibilities to modify the system and test the influence of different parameters were implemented; this will facilitate the optimization of the system for the best of its performance. A theoretical model was used to design the system and size its components. Based on the input system requirements the performance of the system can be simulated.
