Abstract [en]

This report describes the process of developing a motor controller for the Suaineadh satellite project. The problem has been worked on before but has never been finished. Several months was committed to completing this project and trying to make it work within the frames of the Suaineadh experiment. The project was changed several times due to specification alterations. In the end it was changed into a demonstration of some various functions needed in the final design. The reason for this was that there wasn’t enough time; other things had to take priority. Many things could have been handled better and this report tries to argue how whilst describing the process.

There were many bumps and bruises and the project was changed many times. In the end the result of the project was a demonstration of some of the vital functions needed. These functions are respectively; reading data from a sensor using an I2C interface and controlling the rotation of a motor. Tests were also performed in order to assess and ensure the functionality and stability of the components.
