An alternative investment – case study in oil (Swedish)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

Background: Oil is one of the world's most important commodities. Oil is an important liquid energy and for almost 100 years a worldwide well-functioning structure for the distribution oil has been built. Investments in oil are more relevant than ever, partly because the demand is currently outstripping supply and partly to new oil drilling technologies allow for greater oil discoveries.

Method: The main method of this report is a field trip to Oklahoma and Texas. Two interviews and two workshops, articles, books and Internet sites have also been used.

Delimitation: The case study has been limited to focus on direct investments in oil drilling in Texas and Oklahoma.

Result and conclusions: In Sweden we are more comfortable with other forms of energy. We do not know much about investments in oil exploration because we do not have this resource within our borders. But the fact is that oil-related activities are the world's largest business form. Obviously, there are many great investment opportunities for those who know how such an investment can to be made. It is well worth getting to know this exciting investment option in more detail.
