Abstract [en]

Among Smartphone's the niche of mobile payments is growing fast. This master thesis is about how to attain an adequate level of security in person to person payments that are performed on a Smartphone. It starts with some research about which security technologies are suitable for the task and then finds an existing payment service to implement in an prototype app.

The master thesis concludes that WPKI together with SSL/TLS are suitable technologies to attain the adequate level of security. The chosen payment service is PayPal MPL which is used in the prototype. The result from the implementation is a working prototype and a conclusion that PayPal MPL can be recommended as a service for person to person payments.

Mobila betalningar är en nisch hos smartphones som utvecklas snabbt just nu. Detta exjobb handlar om hur man uppnår "god säkerhet" inom person till person betalningar som görs på smartphones. Exjobbet gör en utredning om vilka säkerhetstekniker som är lämpliga samt väljer en existerande betaltjänst och implementerar den i en prototyp app.

Exjobbet kommer fram till att WPKI tillsammans med SSL/TLS är lämpliga tekniker för att uppnå "god säkerhet". Som betalningstjänst väljs PayPal MPL och denna tjänst används sedan i den prototyp som utvecklades. Resultatet blev en fungerande prototyp och en rekommendation om att PayPal MPL kan vara en lämplig tjänst att använda.
