Abstract [en]

This report describes how a notication system for today's mobile phones can be designed to reduce the interference from notications during music listening using headphones compared to today's system. A criterion is that the notability of the notications in the designed system is sucient to receive attention in natural environments with ambient noises and distractions.

The result is a system that uses binaural audio and evasive panning of the music which was considered less disruptive than today's existing notication system. The developed system notications were considered by a focus group to t in better with the music and reduce the disturbance to the listening experience while maintaining a sucient notability.

Abstract [sv]

I denna rapport redogörs hur ett notifikationssystem för dagens mobiltelefoner kan utformas för att reducera det störande moment notifikationer har vid musiklyssning med hörlurar gentemot befintligt system. Ett kriterium är att markbarheten för notifikationerna i det framtagna systemet är tillräcklig för att uppmärksammas i naturliga användningsmiljöer med omgivningsljud och distraktioner.

Resultatet är ett system som med hjälp av binaurala ljud och undvikande panorering av musiken ansågs mindre störande än dagens befintliga notifikationssystem. Det framtagna systemets notifikationer ansågs av en fokusgrupp passa bättre in med musiken och ge en reducerad förvanskning av upplevelsen samtidigt som tillräcklig märkbarhet uppfylldes.
