Abstract [sv]

Svenska Bostäder har planerat att bygga nya studentbostäder vid området Albano, norr om Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan. Dessa måste möta nybyggnationskravet satt av Stockholms Stad med högst ett energibehov på 55 kWh per år och uppvärmdkvadratmeter (Stockholms stad, 2013a). För att kartlägga studenters behov genomfördes en enkätstudie för att identifiera fokusområden som med eventuella åtgärder hade potential till minskat energibehov. Författarna valde att inrikta studien på varmvattenanvändning. Där valdes att undersöka duschmunstycken, tidsrelevanta åtgärder såsom timer, och tvättställ. I resultatet visade de sig att produkten som ger lägst energibehov inte nödvändigtvis är den mest hållbara. Det finns andra miljömässiga, sociala och ekonomiska aspekter som måste tas i beräkning innan det är möjligt att fastställa vilken produkt som bäst ur ett hållbarhetsperspektiv.

Abstract [en]

The real estate company Svenska bostäder has planned to build new student housings at Albano, just north of Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. These buildings have to meet demands set by the city of Stockholm, with a maximum energy consumption of 55 kWh per year and heated square meter. To establish the  behavior regarding the power consumption, a survey was conducted. Using this survey the authors found areas that had a potential of decreasing the energy demand. Hot water usage and the focus areas of shower heads, time reducing measures and wash basins was chosen. The study resulted in that even if a product has the lowest energy demand it is not certain that it is the most sustainable. There are other environmental, social and economic aspects that need to be considered before deciding which product is the best from a sustainable perspective.
