Autonomous payload function: The pogolite software

Abstract [en]

I describe the software in the Payload Control System (PCS) of the Polarized Gamma-ray Observer (PoGOLite). PoGOLite is a balloon-borne Compton-based X-ray Polarimeter designed to observe point sources between 25 and 100 keV. The payload is capable of pointing and acquiring Polarimetrie data in an autonomous manner, and this is the primary mode of operation for the multiple-day balloon flight. The philosophy and functionality of the software are described, and test results are given.
