Abstract [en]

A test rig for the investigation of UV-based AOPs for treatment of VOCs and odorants was constructed and tested. Experiments on propene, using FID and PID for analysis of the % reduction of VOC content, showed that the test rig worked satisfactorily. The effects of flow rate, propene inlet concentration, UV power and ozone inlet concentration on the % reduction in VOC content were evaluated using a two-level full factorial design. This was also used to determine the statistical significance of interactions between parameters and of non-linearity in the relationships between response and parameters.

Several improvements for the test rig and possibilities for further investigation were suggested.
