Is the given amount of feedback enough? : A study of feedback culture in the construction sector (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The   purpose of this study was to examine if the culture and the practice of   feedback works in a satisfactory manner between officials within the field of   construction. If not, make suggestions and recommendations on further   development within the area.

Through the quantitative survey data, we examined the current situation of the   feedback culture in three ongoing construction projects in the Stockholm region. We also conducted qualitative semi-structured interviews with project managers based on the result from the questionnaire. The results from the questionnaire survey and the interviews were then set against the report's theoretical framework and analyzed.

There is a need for more feedback in the three projects that have been investigated. The conclusions that can be drawn from the results are that the shortcomings of the feedback system can be found in the atmosphere experienced on the   projects, the type of feedback that is practiced and the frequency between the exchanges of feedback. Positively contributing areas are the leadership from managers, resources given by the company and the trust between colleagues.
