Abstract [en]

This thesis examines the needs and challenges of sports content delivery for differentstakeholders with a specific focus on media companies. The report begins with an overview of the technological aspects of the technology, previous attempts of mobile broadcasting and sports industry influence on technology uptake. An in-depth look at the sports content delivery value chain and market actors has been made, followed by an analysis of the infrastructure side of a media company based on Osterwalder’s business model canvas. The key takeaways from the interviews with market experts are presented further with an analysis. The report ends with adiscussion of implications of the study results on the sports event namely World Ski Championships in Falun and possible scenarios of how to showcase the technology capabilities to key stakeholders.
