An automatic solution for unwanted black area elimination in photocopy machines

Abstract [en]

In this paper a method for eliminating the unwanted black parts on the margins of the copied image from a book is proposed, reduction of which makes the image look better as well as reducing the consumption of toner by the photocopy machine significantly. This method is able to reduce % 89.58 of the unwanted black parts (in average) compared to a manual method. Furthermore it makes %44.79 reduction in consumption of the toner by a photocopy machine.
