Modeling of the moisture content of the paper in the drying section of a paper mill

Abstract [en]

The present work describes a simplified model of the moisture content in the paper in the drying section of a paper machine. The model is based on the heat and mass transfer within the cylinders and the paper. In order to decrease the amount of computation points, only one node is used for the temperature of the paper and the cylinder in the thickness direction. The heat and mass transfer coefficient are then adjusted to take this into account.
