Abstract [en]

The aim of this bachelor thesis was to find differences in the reading experience of a PDF-basedmagazine on the iPad and a specially designed magazine on iPad.That which has been investigated is whether the read time and information uptake differs betweenthe two trays with different formats and on focus on product accessibility, navigation, WTP,product aspects such as length, number of images, text size, etc.The study consists of two parts. First, we have used a test with different people where we comparedthe different media with subsequent semi-structured parintervju in the form of an open discussion,and we sent out a survey to, Daniel Erktsam who blogs about the iPad, the first twowrote an article the survey as well as linking to the questionnaire. It was sent to all contacts throughFacebook,, email and Flashback forums.The contact with some participants to the interview was done by distributing a letter to IKEA whereI talked about the purpose of the project and interview.The results of this study show that interest in the specially designed magazine (Digital PublishingSuite) is larger than the PDF-based magazine on the iPad. As shown in figure 16 is 95 % of theparticipants prefer the specially designed paper, some of them choose DPS-based magazine if it’sthe same price as a PDF-based magazine.
