Abstract [sv]

Detta kandidatexamensarbete behandlar en matematisk idealisering av spricktillväxt i en halvcirkelskiva, med givna randvärden. Ett samband kunde härledas mellan spricklängden beskriven av och den idealiserade deformationen f på randen till skivan. Informellt kan detta skrivas enligt relationen nedan, där cm och Fm är två explicit givna funktioner.

Abstract [en]

This degree project concerns a mathematical idealization of crack propagation in a semicircle disc, with given boundary constraints. A relation could be derived that connects the crack length described by and the idealized deformation f on the boundary of the disc. This relation can loosely be written as below, where cm and Fm are two explicitly given functions.
